I HAVE DECIDED I'LL START COMMENTING SOME FILMS THAT I LIKE AND THINK I'LL START TALKING ABOUT 'WHASANGO' (WHICH IS NOT RELATED TO H&S SHAMPOOS AT ALL). THIS KOREAN FILM WAS DIRECTED BY KIM TAE-GYUN AND RELEASED IN 2001 IN EUROPE UNDER THE NAME OF 'VOLCANO HIGH SCHOOL'.

PLOT:

KIM KYANG-SOO (JANG HYUK) WAS SLEEPING IN HIS PHYSICS LESSON, WHEN TEACHER WRITE X ON BLACKBOARD. DURING A LESSON IN A KOREAN HIGHSCHOOL, THE TEACHER SAW KYANG-SOO (JANG HYUK) SLEEPING AND THREW HIS CHALK TOWARDS KYANG-SOO. KYANG-SOO PAUSED IT AND PUSHED IT BACK AND INJURED THE TEACHER. KYANG-SOO GOT EXPELLED FROM HIS 8TH KOREAN HIGH SCHOOL, AND FOUND HIS 9TH SCHOOL, WHASANGO, WHICH IS CELEBRATING ITS 108TH ANNIVERSARY. SURPRISINGLY, ALL ITS STUDENTS ARE EXCELLENT MARTIAL EXPERTS…

Singles Awareness Day

Singles Awareness Day (SAD) is a humorous holiday celebrated on February 14 (although some prefer the 13th or the 15th to get away from the commercialism associated with the 14th). It serves as an alternative to Valentine's Day for people who are single; that is, who are not involved in a romantic relationship and can therefore not participate in Valentine's Day traditions. Some observers of SAD do so out of spite for Valentine's Day, as a Hallmark holiday, or for other reasons.
On Singles Awareness Day single people gather to celebrate or to commiserate in their single status. Some want to remind romantic couples to remember those less fortunate than they are. A common greeting on this day by its adherents is
"Happy SAD!"

Sadly, the day is often used by less friendly couples as a day to simply remind the singles they know about their current, uninvolved status.
The holiday is a good example of self-deprecating humor.

"Lovers go die" club and "Unit Solo" in East Asia
Lovers-go-die club (Traditional Chinese: 去死去死團、情侶去死團; Japanese: 死ね死ね団) is a club against lovers or couples. The idea comes from the manga Ping-Pong Club. In this manga, one of the members betrayed their fellow table-tennis team members and went on a date with a girl. Therefore, the other team members formed the "Lovers go die" club and tried to break up the couple. Unit Solo (Korean: 솔로부대, Hanja: -部隊) has similar meaning in South Korea. In East Asia, it has become a movement against public displays of affection. Some claim that radical supporters have even tried to break up couples.
